Herbal Plants Plantation Programme at Sona Medical College of Naturopathy and Yoga

The Herbal Garden Club of Sona Medical College of Naturopathy and Yoga successfully organized a Herbal Plants Plantation Programme on 12th December 2025 within the college campus. The programme was conducted with the primary objective of promoting environmental awareness, encouraging sustainable cultivation of medicinal plants, and fostering a strong culture of nature conservation among students.

Students of the First Year BNYS (Agastya Batch) actively participated in the plantation drive. Under the guidance and motivation of the faculty in charge, the students planted a variety of medicinal and aromatic herbal plants known for their therapeutic value in both traditional and modern healthcare systems. This hands-on activity provided students with practical exposure to the significance of herbal plants in naturopathy and holistic medicine.

The plantation programme enhanced students’ understanding of the role of herbal gardens in medical institutions, emphasizing the importance of green spaces in promoting health, sustainability, and ecological balance. The initiative also encouraged responsibility, teamwork, and long-term commitment towards maintaining the herbal garden.

The event was efficiently coordinated by the Herbal Garden Club In-charge, Dr. Sarojini, ensuring smooth execution and the successful completion of the programme. The enthusiastic participation of students reflected their keen interest in environmental conservation, herbal medicine, and sustainable healthcare practices.
