DESCRIPTION:Experiencing Learning beyond the Classroom!\nStudent of Haridra batch visit to Gokulam hospital\, today\, not only enhance their understanding of healthcare but also promote empathy\, teamwork\, and real-world application of their studies. \nThese invaluable experiences bridge the gap between theory and practice\, preparing future professionals for impactful careers. \nTotal 40 students from Haridra batch (Second year) visited Gokulam hospital as part of their academic activity:\nDepartments observed are Cardiac ICU +Cardiac OT – cardiac specialist doctor explained about the present case’s diagnosis\, plan of care\, post operative complications & care; Cath lab – other cardiac specialist explained about the procedure of angiography\, investigations pre & post\, plan of care then followed by visit to post op ward – suggested the doctor to explain about the angiogram & angioplasty reports of the patients \, then explained the ECG & ventilator machine\, students volunteered interest to defibrillator – doctor explained the same regarding to indications & contraindications of the defibrillator and finally students visited the dialysis ward – nursing faculty explained about a patient report\, lab technicians at x-ray unit explained the procedures followed for the patients while performing x ray.

Anaivaradhan\, and honored by Dr. N. Asokan\, Dean. \nThe camp commenced with participant registration\, followed by comprehensive vital parameter checks\, including blood pressure\, blood glucose\, height\, and weight measurements. A total of 25 female students and 6 male students participated in this initiative on March 4th and 5th\, 2024. Together\, they visited 4\,817 households to raise awareness about polio vaccination\, contributing to India’s journey towards being polio-free. DESCRIPTION:Today\, for the first time\, we have exclusively celebrated the 77th Independence day in our esteemed Sona Medical College of Naturopathy and Yoga. The celebration was felicitated by the Chief Guests Sri. Valliappa\, Chairman\, Sona Institutions and Mr. Thyagu Valliappa\, Managing Trustee of SMCNY and Vice Chairman of Sona Institutions. Both the eminent guests hoisted the prestigious national flag of India. The event was also graced by Dr. S.R.R. Senthilkumar\, Principal\, Sona College of Technology and Dr.V.Karthikeyan\, Principal\, Thiagarajar Polytechnic College\, and the staff members. The highlight of the event was the honoring of State Level players Master. S. Dhanush\, 1000 meters dash\, 2nd place and Ms. S. Pooja\, Short Put\, 2nd place with a cash prize of Rs. 3000 by the Chief Guests. It was then followed by the honoring of national level players of hockey who achieved third place in CM trophy and also the winner of Chess Boxing of our college. The students who had participated in the events conducted by TN Dr. MGR Medical University and Kurinji Kabilar Sangam were also appreciated with gifts. The event ended successfully with cultural programmes

Sona Medical College of Naturopathy and Yoga celebrated the Freshers Day on March 8\, 2023. The day was filled with colourful emotions.  Our honourable Chief Guest\, Dr.Naveen Visweswaraih\, one of the best qualified naturopaths in India gave wonderful ideas to the students and shared his rich experience.Dr.Jaganadhan Msc.\, Agriculture\, Ph.D\, addressed the gathering with valuable information.  Mr.Johnhoffmire\,Oxford University\, UK\,  gave a very impressive speech to the gathering. The white coat ceremony is a rite of passage\, to welcome  the medical aspirants. Wishing luck and having merriment is incomplete without an enticing batch name. The Namakarna was the remarkable moment. Our freshers were named as VRINDA which means tulsi\, the most valuable shrub used during all auspicious occasions and used as a medicinal plant to cure as it is natural immune booster. The day ends with an amazing\, eye catching yoga dance performance which proved that our college students find joy in everything.
