4th Annual Day celebration 2025

Sona Medical College of Naturopathy and Yoga (SMCNY) celebrated its 4th Annual Day on Monday, June 23, 2025, with a vibrant event at the Sona 500 Hall. The festivities began at 4:00 PM with traditional ceremonies, including a Vinayagar Pooja, Lightning of the Lamp, Prayer Song, and Tamizh Thaai Vaazhthu.  Dr. Dharmasamvarddhini S, Principal (i/c) of SMCNY, welcomed the attendees and presented the college’s 4th Annual Report. Mr. Thyagu Valliappa, Vice-Chairman of Sona Institutions and Managing Trustee of SMCNY, delivered the presidential address. He highlighted the Sona Gramam – Wellness Center, the benefits of Pranayama, and future placement opportunities for students.

The event was graced by Dr. P. S. Panneerselvam, Founder-Chairman of Shanmuga Group of Institutions, who served as the Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Prof. Dr. B. Usha, Dean of Annapoorana Medical College & Hospitals, Salem; Dr. R. Vetrivendan, Siddha Medical Officer, Sub District Hospital, Vembadithalam, Salem; and Sri. C. Valliappa, Chairman of Sona Institutions. Sri. C. Valliappa shared a personal testament to the impact of yoga in his life, and all the esteemed guests spoke about their experiences with Naturopathy and Yoga. A highlight of the celebration was the prize distribution to the winners of the 11th IDY Competitions, followed by a grand cultural feast and Group Yoga Formations, presented by the talented students of SMCNY. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Karthick and the National Anthem.
